In Memory of Spiros "Sig" Segalas

Founder, President & Chief Investment Officer

It is with deep sadness that we share the recent passing of Spiros “Sig” Segalas. As one of Jennison’s founders and long-time Large Cap Growth portfolio manager, Sig spent more than half a century as a leader, mentor, friend, and esteemed investor at the firm. He was an iconic figure and will be missed by all at Harbor, Jennison and across the industry. Our condolences are with the Segalas family and friends. Sig was one of the pioneers in growth equity investing, founding Jennison Associates in 1969, along with six others, and managed client portfolios for more than five decades. The greatest honor he felt was the trust that clients placed in him and the team to deliver investment excellence on their behalf. Sig remained an active contributor and Large Cap Growth portfolio manager until his death at 89 years old.

Kathleen McCarragher will continue to lead the Large Cap Growth team alongside Blair Boyer, who together have more than 50 years combined with the firm. Kathleen has led the Large Cap Growth team for nearly 20 years with Blair as Co-Head since 2019.

We thank Sig for over 30 years of portfolio management insight, experience, and dedicated service to Harbor Capital Appreciation Fund clients. While we mourn the loss of an incredible industry veteran, we celebrate his life and continued legacy with Jennison. If you have any questions or need any assistance, please contact 1-866-313-5549.
